RØDE has announced the return of My RØDE Reel, the world’s largest short filmmaking competition! Last year records where broken with over 1638 films submitted from over 94 countries. Back in 2019 for its 6th year, My RØDE Reel is bigger than ever with over 1 million dollars in prizes up for grabs over 28 different categories.
WHAT IS MY RØDE REEL?
Over the last 5 years, My RØDE Reel has established an enviable record as not only the most synergistic conversation between an audience and a pro audio brand, but as an unmissable opportunity for filmmakers around the world to take the next step in their career. Over 14,000 films have been submitted to the competition from 94 countries, and RØDE has awarded over $2.5-million in prizes to both established and emerging filmmakers. My RØDE Reel is now an essential calendar event for filmmakers all over the world and the World’s Largest Short Film Competition. 2019’s edition of My RØDE Reel is all about giving filmmakers MORE: more prizes, more chances to win, more exposure, more incentives to enter, and more surprises up our sleeves.
Entries are open as of today, April 16, and close August 28, 12PM (AEST/GM+10). The winners will be announced from September 25 til October 4, 2019. This year, the My RØDE Reel judges are some of YouTube’s most followed and respected creators, with impeccable pedigrees as filmmakers, educators and commentators. Their combined YouTube subscribers number over 3-million people!

Ryan Connolly
Ryan is a filmmaker, internet personality and presenter best known for his web series Film Riot, which has gained over 1.4-million subscribers. He has also written and directed 15 short films, including PROXiMITY, UFOh Yeah, Ghost House, SENTiNEL and, most recently, BALLiSTIC. Collectively, Ryan’s short films have amassed almost 10-million views.
Grace Randolph
The host & creator of Beyond The Trailer on YouTube, Grace is the one of the most esteemed film commentators on the platform, as well as the top female critic. Her trailer reactions, box office reports and interviews with celebrities altogether boast a whopping half-a-billion views on YouTube, with over 800k fans subscribing to her channel.
Dan Mace
Since winning the My RØDE Reel Judges’ Film prize in 2015, Dan’s rise has been as meteoric as it has been organic: 700k+ followers on YouTube, 230k+ on Instagram and 90k+ on Twitter. He is known for a focussed dedication to craft, from-the-heart content and high quality films that span a variety of industry categories.

2. Make a 3-minute (max) short film in any genre
3. Make a 3-minute (max) behind-the-scenes showing you using any RØDE product in your production
4. Upload your films to the My RØDE Reel website
