FIRST 4K PHABLET

Acer unveiled the first smartphone capable of shooting 4K video at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin last month. The Liquid S2 is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera that can capture 4K video – four times the HD resolution of 1080p – and can also record full HD quality video at 60 frames per second with 4x slow motion. Unfortunately the ‘phablet’-sized six-inch display is 1080p, which means you’ll need another device that supports 4K to enjoy your videos. The Liquid S2 is also equipped with dual stereo speakers powered by Dolby Digital Plus, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera with 88° wide viewing angle, 16GB built-in memory and a micro-SD card slot for up to 128GB external storage – which you’ll be needing for your 4K videos. So far, release has only been slated for Europe later this month and pricing remains unconfirmed.
