The inaugural Dolby Sound Challenge has begun and the theme for this year’s challenge is: Hear My City – Sydney.
Entrants will need to submit a 90-second video based on this year’s theme, that captures the essence and uniqueness of Sydney, Australia.
Judges are looking for entries that encapsulates the theme of the challenge – with an original and creative use of sound.
The top three entries will have their sound track mixed in Dolby Atmos by Soundfirm, the first-ever Dolby Atmos facility in Australia (pictured below).

The winner will receive $15,000 worth of prizes:
- Cash prize of $5,000
- An out-of-world Sound Mixing Workshop experience in LA with a leading Hollywood feature film mixer
- Showcase of the winning video for a week in the Dolby Atmos equipped auditorium
- One year supply of free Dolby Atmos movie vouchers
Second and third place, will be awarded $1,000 each.
