COOLER PIX

Nikon has announced a successor to its S01, its smallest and lightest ultra-compact digital camera. The new S02 point-and-shoot packs in features including a 13.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and full HD 1080p video recording, a Nikkor lens with 3x zoom, and a 2.7-inch touchscreen in a body the size of a business card. The model is available for around $300.

The company has also released the Coolpix P7800 successor to the P7700, spotted for around $900, along with a new LD-1000 LED Movie Light as an accessory for the Nikon 1 and Coolpix ranges. The AAA-powered lamp attaches to a camera’s tripod mount with a simple bracket that can be removed for hand-held use and includes four white LEDs and a diffuser for what Nikon promises to be clear and consistent soft illumination.
