VFX: DOUBLE NEGATIVE TALKS VIDEO REVIEW

Those who work in any level of post production understand their work will be reviewed many many times, by producers, directors, supervisors and so on. The beauty of the digital age also means that team members can be anywhere in the world and be able to review, collaborate and edit that work.

There are a number of different ways to securely upload video’s for review. Most indie filmmaker’s will upload a password protected video to Vimeo, but it’s timely, it doesn’t allow for real time collaboration and relies on trust that the password isn’t shared or hacked.

As you can imagine, video review on big budget features requires a higher level of security and needs to be versatile enough that all team members can easily access the project and its files.

Academy Award nominated VFX House, Double Negative understands this need more than most, with facilities in London, Singapore and Vancouver – the company uses cineSync for its video review.

Andrew Lockley, has been part of the D-Neg team for nearly 15 years and has worked on such high-profile productions as Children of Men, Inception, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

The video below features Lockley discussing D-Neg’s work on Interstellar using cineSync.

cineSync is available on a subscription basis with prices starting at – US$99 per month.
