CLIPPED MUSIC VIDEO FESTIVAL

CLIPPED Music Video Festival, Australia’s only Festival dedicated to the art of music video, celebrates its 5th birthday when it returns on Saturday 5 December 2020 at The Ritz Cinemas, Randwick.

The 2020 instalment of the CLIPPED Music Video Festival will showcase the very best Australian music videos of the year, along with some special premieres, insightful discussions with filmmaking creatives and the hotly contested CLIPPED Music Video Awards. Featuring special guest virtual host Donny Benét, and live event host with the most Bridie Tanner (Triple J).

The event will take place to an exclusive live audience at the iconic Ritz Cinemas in Randwick, or be available to livestream at clippedfestival.com via Maestro, the world’s leading interactive livestream platform.

“2020 hasn’t been what anyone could have expected and we’ve had to tweak what the Festival looks like to fit into this new world we’re all living in,” said Festival Director Sam Bright. “The 2020 Festival is a hybrid event of sorts, where we can still celebrate and award the very best music videos from the past year, but do so in a way that’s safe. As we’re the only platform focused on giving music video creators the recognition they deserve, if we weren’t to hold this event sadly nobody else would”

Benji Tamir, Operations Manager, The Ritz Cinemas said “It’s really exciting to be working with the team at CLIPPED for the first time to present this year’s festival, especially considering the year we’ve all had. The Ritz is a great fit for CLIPPED as it is home to many Sydney cultural and artistic events and festivals. The Ritz is a Sydney Icon and no better place to host such an exciting and vibrant festival such as CLIPPED. We’re looking forward to celebrating 5 years of CLIPPED!”

The festival will begin at 5pm on Saturday 5 December, with the world first launch of a CLIPPED Online Music Video Channel, through Maestro. With a nod to rage, CLIPPED will curate a program of amazing clips from this year’s festival entries, interviews with the creators, behind the scenes and a few specials from the vaults.

Over the last 5 years CLIPPED have been at the forefront in championing and promoting the Australian music video community, an often-overlooked yet essential part of the film and music industry. Having developed a strong reputation in pioneering opportunities to showcase work both on the big screen or via CLIPPED.TV their media publication, CLIPPED has become the premier curator in Australia by recognising quality music videos and giving platform to the creators. To date the annual CLIPPED Music Video Awards have given away close to $100,000 in prizes and cash presenting 60+ awards which is crucial to the community.
