FUJIFILM’S BUDGET MIRRORLESS SHOOTER

Fujifilm continues its entry into the lower end of the market with a new entry-level compact system camera with interchangeable lenses for enthusiasts, the X-A1. Aimed at users hovering between compacts and DSLRs, the model is the fourth in its X-series range of mirrorless cameras and follows the release of the slightly better-featured X-M1 a few months ago. The X-A1 is available from this month for a recommended $849, and comes bundled with the 16-50mm lens and has a large 16.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor for shallow depth-of-field and low-light capability, a standard three-inch tilting LCD display, wi-fi, full HD 1080p video at 30fps and a built-in stereo microphone for capturing audio.
